I fully understand why the people who are supposedly at the short end of the stick, reject it. I am just saying that it's futile, though they might not know it. In many ways, meritocracy is like democracy -- yeah, we know it's not perfect, but then what?

There are others who are not at the short end who do the same. I think these are either stupid and/or disingenuous or just bloody virtue signallers.
